Mojang studios is a Swedish video game developer. It was founded in 2009 by video game designer Markus Persson. Mojang helped Markus make his sandbox survival game and they called it minecraft after some detailed thinking. Minecraft was very successful giving Mojang sustained growth. With the desire to move on from the game Persson decided to sell his share in mojang and was bought by microsoft the current holder of minecraft. After Persson left Mojang decided to change their name to Mojang Studios.
